Energy Performance Cert

 

Getting an Energy Performance Certificate   (EPC) for the house is a really good starting-point for climate action.  Indeed, it is probably the best.  Mine cost under fifty pounds (terrace house, 2019) and the examiner was here for about an hour.

An EPC tells you how well- (or badly! ) your house is insulated. (I scored a “C”. )  It then goes on to suggest ways of improving matters – that is, reducing your emissions, saving energy and saving money.  Your next move would be to act on the suggestions!
